Dr. Amy Bear fell in love with veterinary medicine while
volunteering at a small animal practice in St. Paul, MN. She had
been working in cancer research at the University of Minnesota and
was considering teaching as a career, but quickly discovered that
veterinary medicine encompassed teaching as well as her other
interests in animals, science and working with people and their
pets. She enjoys developing relationships with clients and their
dogs and cats, and being a part of their pet’s health care
decisions. She is also a strong advocate of assuring the comfort of
the patients of PineRidge Pet Care. She has been with this practice
for more than 15 years.
Amy has a special interest in rehabilitation of dogs, and is a
Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP), completed
through the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine.
She works with dogs following orthopedic and neurologic surgeries as
well as elderly arthritic dogs or dogs with other chronic
musculoskeletal disorders.
Amy shares her life with Frank Grant (woodworker) and his son
Justin, along with Lily (Border collie), Annie (terrier mutt) and
Freebee and Eragon (parakeets). She enjoys traveling the world,
attempts at gardening, photography, hiking and camping in remote
areas, and discovering back-road restaurants on their travels.
